Quotes

"I feel that my progress has been swift and incredibly successful, my sense of achievement is great and I have avoided crisis that I know I was heading for." -- Michael, Scotland.

"I feel unusually lucky to have found these people just when I needed them. I want to tell everybody just to get on a plane, and let Alex, Chrissy, Son and Tony do the rest. Words don't describe how grateful I feel, thank you" -- Caroline, Southend On Sea.

"Really didn't know what to expect as I've never done anything like this before but there was no need to worry, from the moment I was met at the airport I knew I was in really good hands" -- Dave, London.

Holidays That Are Different

Welcome to the Life Change Blog.

We publish an article every week about change, life and sometimes, what it’s like living in Thailand. We hope you enjoy them.

Holidays That Are Different            holidays that are different

Let me be upfront, straight with you from the outset...... I love holidays. I really do. I’ve been hooked on holidays since childhood when we used to spend 2 heavenly weeks at the sea side in the west of England. I loved them so much that in a desperate attempt to avoid going home I remember tying myself to the railings outside the shell shop in Brixham with some string from my sister’s kite (my Dad had to cut me free, and buy my sister a new kite).

On the very last day, before the terribly long and depressing journey back, my great aunt Sarah would invariably say “it’s nice to get away but it’ll be nice to get home”. Was she mad? Did she not bother opening her eyes to the wonderments in the shell shop?

Because I love holidays so much I want you to enjoy them as well, especially if you book one of our Tailor Made Change Holidays. I want it to be an extra special time. I want you to be able to sort out your problems through our unique Life Change Program, but also more than that, to enjoy a different kind of holiday, one that is built around you and the things that you enjoy.  I think this is especially important if life is difficult at the moment, or if you’re facing some difficult decisions.

I also think that it should be possible to use a holiday to help others enjoy their lives as well. That’s why we put 5% of the holiday program costs towards the running of the Vieng Ping Childrens Home in Chiang Mai. Sometimes our guests bring presents with them for the children or buy supplies here to take over. Everything that is donated, especially powdered milk and nappies for the babies are really appreciated. It just feels good and right and makes everyone’s Change Holiday that bit more meaningful and important.

We also offer some unusual and unique private excursions with our main man Son who is possibly the kindest man in the world. He might well take you to his favourite noodle hut out in the country on the way home from a day out, or show you around real Thai markets and buy you the most incredible food you’ve ever eaten.

Or for those who fancy a tailor made Adventure Holiday in Thailand, what about taking off in your own micro-light plane at the crack of dawn and swooping over the mountains as the jungle stirs into life just beneath your feet, or white water rafting or spending a day over at the Elephant Nature Park.

One of my favourites is a trip out to the hot springs and geezers, popular with local people but a little bit off the beaten track for foreign visitors. Just watching the huge rather unnerving spray of boiling water suddenly gush out of a hole in the ground is an unusual and awesome sight. Equally so is the sight of an old lady who sells fresh hens eggs at the side of the hot spring. I really had no idea what she was doing there until I saw a Thai family buy one each and cook them at the edge of the boiling water and eat them on the spot.

Whatever you enjoy we really will build a tailor made holiday in Thailand just for you......and help you sort out your problems at the same time. Who knows, you might like it all so much that you’ll tie yourself to the railings with some kite string!

Talk to you next week about change, life and living in Thailand.

"These really are holidays that change your life"

Bye for now, Alex.
